What a wonderful first meal in Edinburgh! Food was amazing, drinks were great and the service (thank you Connor!) was the best. What a laid back and friendly atmosphere and we will definitely be back before the end of our current trip. I highly recommend a visit even if it’s just for a beer or cocktail at the bar or outdoor patio.

Loved this place! Came here with my partner to meet friends and wasn't disappointed. It was busy, so seating was limited but they have indoor and outdoor areas. They have a variety on the menu but I chose a burger with a couple of beers and a long drink. All were highly satisfying. The literature themed drinks and decor is a great idea. The drinks menu is (literally) built into a book! I can't get over this. Friendly staff too!

We stopped here for breakfast and were surprised at how quickly we could get a table. Service was pretty fast however it did take awhile to get my water (for reference-my friends received their drinks shortly after the order was placed and water wasn’t brought until after we had began eating). I had the poached eggs with haggis and chili jam which did not disappoint. Highly recommend giving it a go

What a great place! Highly recommend getting out of the centre and having dinner at this fantastic place. Food is delicious, service is great and the atmosphere is unique. We had the starter fish tacos followed by the steak pie and fish and chips. I wish I could back.

We visited this lovely cafe three evenings in a row and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly kind and friendly. It felt like a little hidden gem right in the heart of the city. Every drink we tried was delicious — you can tell they put care into everything they serve. A perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring. Highly recommend!

The food was very good, although the size of the waffle and bacon was a bit small, it would be nice if it was a bit bigger, but the taste was good all the same. The full Scottish breakfast was also very good. The service was very friendly, we were served by Saule. We will definitely be back.

I got the full Scottish breakfast, which is available all day. It was a very generous amount of food, cooked well and very delicious. You can choose how you want your eggs cooked, I chose scrambled and I was very pleased not only with the cooking of the scrambled egg, but also with the generous portion size. As of February 2025, the meal cost 12.50 and was worth every penny. The staff were super attentive and pleasant, and the ambience of the restaurant was very pleasant and welcoming. Service was also speedy even though the place was quite busy.
